Quick Cold Remedy Wellness Shot

Luckily, I don’t get sick very often. But, when I feel a cold coming on, I want to get over it quick! So, I came up with this wellness shot remedy – a blend of lots of good for you things. And, it really helps!

You all know I how I feel about juicing. Well, this takes it to a new level!

Last week I woke up with a TERRIBLE pain in my throat one morning…like someone had stabbed the back of my throat with a knife. Not okay!

I ate some breakfast and immediately downed a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar. I actually love the taste of it straight…I know…I’m weird like that.

Apple cider vinegar actually acts as an antibiotic, according to this study.

Throughout the day, I continued to eat my regularly planned meals. Food is so important when you feel under the weather. The body is working overtime to fight off the cold on top of your normal routine. You may not feel like it, but it is really important to get those calories in.

I drank a couple Throat Coat teas to help with the sore throat too. Teas are packed with herbs and spices that have a long history of medicinal use. I do whatever I can to avoid any kind of “medicine” in the sense most are used to.

I wanted to reap the benefits of bone broth for my cold, but I just can’t stand the taste on its own. So, I decided to blend it in with a simple juice. The result was fantastic! And, the next morning, I felt A LOT better!

Sleep is also super important when you feel sick. Giving your body every chance it can to heal and recover on its own will help you bounce back faster. If you can get a quick nap in during the day, do it! Sleep in your car on a work break, or take a nap at the same time as your kids, trust me it will help!

The juice blends together carrots, lemon, turmeric, fennel, ginger, sea salt and bone broth.

Take 3-4 carrots, 1/2 fennel bulb, 1 small lemon, 1 inch fresh ginger and juice them all. Add 1/4 tsp of turmeric, a pinch of sea salt and 1/2 cup bone broth to the juice and stir to combine.
